I have two favorite places in Ingolstadt: the beautiful courtyard of the new castle and the parade ground in front of it, which are always the scene of great events like the Herzogsfest or the Fest zum reinen Bier.

I have several favorite places in Ingolstadt: First, the Asamkirche, because there are always wonderful details to discover in the ceiling fresco. The Pfeifturm, because the overview of the city is magnificent. Then there's the Old Anatomy, because it's a great place to relax in the garden, and finally the Minster, because the church simply amazes everyone!

The Glacis is the green heart of the old town with a lot of history. From the Pfeifturm, you can admire the city and its surroundings from a different perspective. According to Egid Quirin Asam, the breathtaking ceiling fresco of the Asamkirche is his masterpiece. The town museum houses the oldest taxidermy in Europe.

The Asam Church Maria de Victoria is my highlight. It is a jewel of baroque architecture with the unique, beautiful 520 square meter flat ceiling fresco in illusion painting by Cosmas Damian Asam and the unique, especially valuable Lepanto monstrance.

Theresienstrasse in the pedestrian zone is my Ingolstadt highlight: beautiful, lively and lots to talk about. I think the High School campus is remarkable. When the construction equipment is not there, it is probably the most beautiful place in the city for me. Ickstatt, Weishaupt, Scheiner, the Apian brothers, Eck and many other great scientists walked over these stones!

My favorite place in Ingolstadt is the Pfeifturm. The old fire watch tower on the town hall square offers a magnificent view over Ingolstadt and far into the surrounding countryside. From the gallery of the Pfeifturm a whole city tour is possible with a few steps, at sunset simply very romantic!
